EPL Weekly Round-Up: United Finally Get A Win On The Road, City Gunned Down At Home While Chelsea Stay On Top

Things finally got on track for Manchester United in the league as they put up a strong performance to beat Stoke City 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium... This happened to be United's first away win this season in 9 league games... Summer signing Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez netted twice for the Red Devils as United finally overcame their away woes... Turkish international Tuncay Sanli threatened to split points when he cancelled out Hernandez's magnificent opener, but Hernandez proved to be the 'right man at the right place' as he tapped in Patrice Evra's poor shot into the goal four minutes from time... United face Wolves up next this Wednesday at Old Trafford in their defence of the League Cup...

In the biggest game this weekend, Arsenal beat 10-man Man City at Eastlands to move to 2nd spot in the league table, ahead of United & City on goal difference... Wenger's side took full advantage of Dedrick Boyata's sending-off as Samir Nasri, Alexander Song & substitute Nicklas Bendtner each netted for the Gunners...

In other games this weekend, Chelsea maintained their lead at the top with a rather unspectacular & dull display against Wolves, beating them 2-0 at Stamford Bridge... Also, Liverpool seemed to improve their record this season with a victory over Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at home...

Weekly Verdict:

Player Of The Week - Javier Hernandez

Team Of The Week - Arsenal

That's all Folks!

Yours,
CJ
