The scene was set perfectly for Giggs to mark such an astonishing landmark with a top performance and he certainly didn't disappoint as he kept United's title hopes on track as he looks to win his 13th Premiership winners medal.
It is quite an incredible achievement to make so many appearances at the very highest level for a career that has spanned over 20 years, and the scary part is that he still has plenty to offer, and remains an essential part of the team. Just how long can the 37 year old go on for? It might be worth a bwin free bet for him to make it to 1000 appearances!?
He has already signed for at least another year, but the way he is playing and feeling, there is no reason why he cant have another 2 or 3 seasons in him at least as he shows little signs of slowing down.
You run out of words to describe how great his achievement is and just how good a player he is. Sir Alex Ferguson claims that he is the greatest British player of all time, while the likes of Zindane, Cryuff, George Best and many more sing the praises of the Welshman.
Giggs who was speaking after the Norwich game said himself:
"To play for such a great team, a great club and the team I've supported and grown up with, it's obviously special to play 900 games. I'll keep going and hopefully there's more goals to come. You've seen that from the celebrations right in front of the fans. And late on. It doesn't get any better than that. It's a feeling that won't change whether you're 17 or 38 like I am now."
